What AnglerScout stores

We store the account details you provide, your fishing profile and preferences, catches, fishing sessions, saved spots, community memberships, posts, replies, uploaded photographs, safety check-ins, and subscription status. If you allow location access, coordinates and related conditions are stored only when you use a feature that records or shares them.

How information is used

We use this information to run your journal, maps, forecasts, communities, rankings, catch insights, safety tools, support, security, and billing. Aggregated and de-identified catch information may be used to improve catch-probability signals. We do not sell personal information.

Location and spot privacy

You control whether a catch or post uses an exact location, an approximate area, or a hidden location. Private journal entries remain private unless you choose to share them. Do not publish sensitive fishing locations unless you are comfortable sharing them with the selected audience.

Service providers

AnglerScout uses service providers for hosting, file storage, transactional email, maps and payments. Web memberships are processed by Stripe. Android app memberships are processed by Google Play; Google receives the purchase and device information required to complete and protect that transaction. These providers process only the information needed to provide their services and are subject to their own security and privacy obligations.

Device permissions

AnglerScout may ask for location access to find nearby waters, record a chosen fishing location, or attach conditions to a session; camera or photo access when you choose a catch image; and network access to synchronise your account. You can refuse or revoke optional permissions in device settings. Core account deletion does not require location or photo permission.

Retention and deletion

Your information is kept while your account is active and as needed for legal, fraud-prevention, and accounting obligations. You can export your account data and permanently delete your account from AnglerScout. Deletion removes associated app records and uploaded media, subject to short-lived backups and legally required records. You can begin deletion from the app or from our public account-deletion page.

Your choices

You may change profile and privacy settings, revoke device permissions, export your data, leave communities, or delete your account. Community content may also be moderated to protect members and comply with law.
